Yoga Nidra is an ancient meditation practice of Ayurveda and Yoga that is usually practiced in savasana. It is used to enhance the body-mind connection, regulate the autonomic nervous system and elicit deep relaxation, reduce stress, and balance emotions. Research has shown it to be effective in reducing chronic pain and healing painful memories and trauma.
